Today we’re shining the spotlight on Rodion Kutsaev, a talented freelance photographer from Ukraine. Rodion has a portfolio of beautiful photos that we’re excited to share with you.

We had a chance to sit down and chat with Rodion about his background and his approach to photography.
Vecteezy: How and when did you get started with photography?
Rodion: “I started with photography back in 2012 using a Samsung Galaxy S2, taking photos whenever I could. Then in 2014, I started getting more serious with a Nikon D5200 and taking pictures of everything.”
Food

Vecteezy: What is the best advice you’ve ever received from another photographer?
Rodion: “The best advice I’ve received is to take pictures every day.”
Isolated Objects
I mentioned earlier that many of Rodion’s photos use a clean background. You’ll love these photos that feature an object isolated on a colorful background.

Vecteezy: What camera and lenses do you use?
Rodion: “My camera is a Fujifilm X-Pro1 and my lenses are Fujinon XF16mm f/1.4 R and Fujinon XF60mm f/2.4 Macro.”
Patterns
Of course, vector patterns are very popular for use as backgrounds, but patterns created with photographs are not as common. In Rodion’s portfolio, you’ll find a few photos that are really unique, by using food to create patterns.

Vecteezy: What hobbies/interests do you have outside of photography, and how have these influenced your creativity?
Rodion: “I like cycling outside the city. Of course, I take my camera on these trips to shoot something interesting.”
