Like so many of Vecteezy’s contributors, Kirsty works from the comfort of her home as a self-employed designer.
With a background in print and design agencies, Kirsty became her own boss in 2004, and she’s never looked back. She specializes in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, and she operates her own business with a professional partner.
While you could literally spend hours browsing through the thousands of vectors that Kirsty has designed, we’ve chosen a few to highlight in this article. If you want to use any of these resources, click on the image and you’ll be led to the download page.
We had a chance to sit down and chat with Kirsty about her work and her approach.
Vecteezy: How and when did you get started with design?
Kirsty: I got started with design when I went to college at the age of 18. I took a course that included illustration, graphic design, and photography. I learned the basics of design at college, but since then I have taught myself how to use the various pieces of software I use. The ones I use on a daily basis are Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Vecteezy: How would you describe the style of your work?
Kirsty: I have various styles to my work. In Photoshop, I like to create mainly abstract grunge images and medical-themed images. In Illustrator, a lot of my images are seasonal advertising-themed images (images that can be used in various advertising style materials).
Kirsty offers a huge collection of vectors with nature and landscape scenes. Many of them feature silhouette elements like trees, mountains, birds, and more.

Vecteezy: With thousands of resources already in your portfolio, how do you decide which new resources to create?
Kirsty: I create new designs for all the major holiday celebrations such as Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and Ramadan. I like to do these designs a few months in advance as it is important to upload these images well in advance. I do a lot of research online as to what style of images are popular so I can keep up to date with the trends and design my images according to the current trend.
You’ll love the holiday-themed vectors that are ready to be put to use in your own designs. Kirsty offers vectors for a variety of holidays with a heavy emphasis on Christmas.

Vecteezy: What do you enjoy most about your work as a designer?
Kirsty: I enjoy designing. I don’t see it as a job. It’s more my way of escaping into doing something I love!
Vecteezy: What hobbies/interests do you have outside of design, and how have these influenced your creativity?
Kirsty: My hobbies and interests include walking my dogs and visiting the gym. I enjoy socializing with my friends. I am always looking at advertising material when I am out and about, picking up design ideas and sometimes seeing my images in use!
