We’re looking for gaming content

Gaming has come a long way since the days of Spacewar! and many in the gaming industry believe that it could become the next dominant technology platform in the same way that search engines, mobile devices, and social media networks have shaped countless industries over the past 20 years. Those same experts are predicting an overall gaming industry value of ~$200 billion dollars by 2024 – not including sales from hardware and devices.

As the gaming industry continues to grow, the need for relevant content across vectors, stock photos, and stock video is top of mind here at Vecteezy. While it might seem easy to create or capture visuals related to gaming, due to intellectual property and trademark issues, we encourage all of our contributors to be extra careful when depicting gaming devices, consoles, and controllers and avoid keywording your files with gaming company brand names or trademarked phrases.

Keywords:
gaming, video game, online game, controller, virtual reality, metaverse, collaboration, gameplay, community, entertainment, gamify, extended reality (XR), recreation, virtual, interactive, digital avatar, virtual production (VP), online socializing

Below is the specific content we’re seeking for May.

Gaming has skyrocketed during the pandemic, a lot of people have turned to gaming as a way to find connection, entertainment, and to share moments with friends and loved ones. With that in mind, we’re seeking trendy gaming vector designs across a number of different themes. From gaming font sets, such as vibrant fonts with gradients or even retro pixel fonts, to video intro or opener graphics, to gaming-themed website templates, and streaming (like Twitch) overlays. Like almost all forms of technology, video games may be most beneficial when used to connect people to one another – either in the same room or virtually, anywhere. From education to entertainment, gaming can span so many different ages, devices, and interests that there is a massive opportunity to reflect that variety in creating your content. Modern-looking flat lay photos with repetitive elements or room for text do especially well on Vecteezy, but we also love when creators humanize technology themes by making images that include diverse, authentic people and relationships. Many gaming setups include creative LED lighting that could provide unique visual interest when incorporated into your images. We only see gaming getting more and more popular and we look forward to seeing what you can come up with to tell that story.

Gaming has been a steadily growing industry for decades. That trend has only increased during the pandemic as a new outlet for some much-needed connection and stress relief during the isolated lockdown. We are looking for clips that depict modern, authentic, and realistic scenes where people play video games through a console, online, or on their mobile devices. Many people who stream themselves playing games typically have a gaming chair or a setup that looks interesting to the viewer watching them. Be aware of lighting and the contrast that games can display on people’s faces, especially for those playing on a handheld console or on their devices. If done properly, the screens lighting up people’s faces can achieve a very cinematic effect. It’s also worth noting that you cannot show any actual gameplay, consoles, or non-generic gaming controllers as they are all copyrighted. Still, if you can follow these guidelines and create authentic gaming footage, you’ll score plenty of points!
