Social media usage continues to increase year over year. Young adults are consistently among the earliest social media adopters for new platforms and use social platforms at the highest levels, but usage by older adults has increased in recent years as well. While this wasn’t a new trend prior to 2020, the pandemic has accelerated the adoption of social media globally with over 3.6 billion people using social platforms today.

Subsequently, brands and marketers are stepping up their own adoption of social media looking for new methods of engagement on social platforms that will help them grow their followers and audience. The ultimate goal, of course, is to increase consumer spending or usage of their products and services.

Live streaming – a central component of influencer marketing – is quickly becoming the go-to tool for traditional brands and marketers to promote their products and services. With live streaming we’ve witnessed the rise of live shopping; essentially the home shopping network, except streamable on your mobile device or laptop, through websites or apps like Instagram, with celebrities and influencers helping to sell the product or service in real-time.

As these new forms of e-commerce continue to grow and evolve, the brands, marketers, and influencers using social media will need impactful, engaging materials and advertising tools that can assist them in promoting their social feeds, their live streams, or live shopping events, to new and existing consumers.

For many brands, live streaming and social media have become their main channels used to reach new and existing customers. According to data from Livestream, 80% of people would rather watch a live video from a brand than read their blog.

As brands adapt and marketers increase their use of live video in future campaigns, we’ll continue to see increased demand for assets like Facebook live promo templates, Instagram live streaming templates, Instagram live gradient circles, and general Instagram templates. These types of templates make it quick and easy for marketers to develop their live streaming programs and content calendars.

Since social media is one of the easiest and safest ways to interact at the moment, we depend on it for everything from socialization to shopping. And as we seek more connection, live streaming in particular can be an invaluable portal to connect with friends or follow the aspirational life of an influencer. So it’s no surprise there is a need for creative content that features all sorts of people using devices in a variety of contexts.

In creating and submitting work for this topic, keep in mind that your photos will stand out when you include relatable, warm, human elements in technology-themed images. Think: how would a brand use these images to demonstrate or market their product and how could they be visually appealing in a way that feels current? Don’t forget, cover up or avoid brand names and logos to ensure your images with tech devices can be used commercially.

New forms of social engagement shape our modern lives, and stock footage needs to reflect that. It’s common knowledge that everyone and their dog (literally) now have a presence on social media, but the past few years have seen an explosion in new methods of social media adoption. Live streaming on Twitch and YouTube are now the norm, in addition to the e-commerce world exploding — think swiping up to buy an item on an Instagram story or clicking through an ad on Facebook.

We are looking for footage of POV shots of social media influencers, closeups of hands holding devices and scrolling through social media feeds, in addition to footage of people of all different ages, races, and sizes scrolling through social media. We would also like animations for marketers to use in their Instagram stories, templates that will help video creators elevate their content and “Swipe Up to Buy” story templates for Instagram Stories. As you develop new content, consider the visuals you encounter on social media each day and how you might be able to replicate or improve on these.
