Over the past 16 months, self-care, also referred to as self-love, has been a widely debated topic, especially with those of us working from home or taking care of young children who would otherwise be in daycare or school. The global pandemic has forced many of us to take a closer look at our day-to-day activities and the way in which we work, consume, multitask, and generally rush through life. That has led to a self-care awakening as more and more of us have identified how crucial self-care is for general happiness, health, and well-being.
As our customers and clients search for visuals that convey various self-care activities and themes, we encourage our contributors to consider what self-care means to each of you. Perhaps it’s eating healthier, or a new skincare routine, or spending less time using a mobile device or computer screen and more time walking, running, or cycling. In addition to these ideas, we’ve outlined a number of trends for vectors, stock photos, and stock video that you will find below.

As we edge gradually into a post-pandemic world, people are relying on self-care to help them manage the transition away from lockdown and back into “normal” life. Whether it’s buying a fancy new moisturizer, going for a quick mani-pedi, or a whole spa day – many of us are setting aside time for self-love. Visuals featuring self-care themes will be in high demand for months to come and we’re looking for a few specific concepts around this trend.
First, realistic cosmetic and cream containers or lotion packaging used for serums, toners, facial cream, eye shadows, cream blush, gel eyeliner, and many other beauty products. Consider a variety of containers and caps that feature a range of styles and packaging needs with transparent, glassy, or shiny finishes. We’re also asking contributors to consider background visuals that feature water splashes, healing plants like aloe, fruit, and fresh flowers with soothing green, blue, and cream tones that exude a feeling of freshness and calm.

There’s always a need for mental and physical self-care in our busy world, especially after the last year and a half. We’re looking for contributors to provide us with a fresh take on this concept that goes beyond massages and meditation. There is an opportunity for your images to stand out from existing self-care content by using vivid colors, a variety of textures, and elements of water and light.
We always encourage you to submit conceptual interpretations of a theme, like rest, quiet, health, recharging, connection, and nurturing. Self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all and the images shouldn’t be either. Be sure to reflect the diversity of people, needs, and activities in your submissions.

Self-care can include anything you do to relax, recharge or keep yourself healthy, whether physically, mentally, or spiritually. But while the act of self-care sounds like common sense in and of itself, it often becomes an afterthought in our busy lives. That’s why self-care and self-love have become such buzzworthy terms, and why we need stock footage from our contributors that reflects various themes and considerations around this topic.
We are looking for model-released, authentic footage of ethnically diverse models participating in self-care, whether it’s a spa day, haircut, massage, manicure, or any theme that conveys relaxation while giving your mind and body a break. There are plenty of ways to relax and recharge and we want to see you capture these with your next video submission.
